An Historian About... 7 January 2024
Hello again dear readers!
Huzzah, we are now officially in a new year! At this point, I’m not even going to wish for a better year than 2023, only that 2024 is not worse… I have to say, this is one of the first years that I can remember where I actually feel rested going into the new year.
I’ve got a number of fantastic books lined up for 2024- thankfully, publishers have been incredibly kind with granting me ARCs. I’ve read a handful already, and I’ve got several that are definitely going to be shared (when I can).
I am not a huge person for resolutions but I do have a research project planned for this year- I’m going to be examining royal visits to Winnipeg throughout the last century! It is quite small in the grand scheme of historical research but I wanted to set myself a manageable goal given that I have a full-time “real” non-history job to contend with. Balancing research with the blog has proven tough in the past but I am feeling positive.
I hope that you have had a wonderful start to the new year! Have you set yourself any goals?

Review
Okay, I fully went into this expecting it to be awful. I do not know why I assumed this, but I figured, how many sweeping epics actually pull it off. Well, I am completely happy to be wrong on this one.
