An Historian About... 7 April 2024
Hello again dear readers!
I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. Mine was actually the perfect break where I got a lot done but also was able to rest. I’ve got some ongoing health problems that make relaxing tough, so it was nice to have that break. It also is finally feeling like the start of spring here which hopefully bodes well.
It might seem early, but I am currently getting my summer research plans in place. I find that balancing research with a full-time job and adult responsibilities is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle, so planning ahead helps. It is finally time that I tackle several large newspaper archives- while you can find some real gems, it can be an overwhelming amount of information to go through. If anyone is interested in research updates, let me know! (Sharing updates might be a good motivator, ha!)
ALSO: a late addition to this newsletter- I went to a charity book sale here in Winnipeg and found some fantastic books/items. Highlights include two Royal Winnipeg Ballet programs from 1969 and several royal books, including a Canadian tour book.
In this newsletter you will find: a new but old mystery series that I loved, a royal-ish historical fiction recommendation, a new Netflix movie, a history-making coronation, and more!
