An Historian About... 5 November 2023
Hello again dear readers!
Well, this has not been a great few weeks for me if I’m honest. The weather turned to snow before Halloween, my licence plate was stolen off of my car, and I’m struggling with the much drier weather. However, all we can do is keep looking forward, right?
I obviously am a fan of the holiday season, so I’m slowly ramping my celebrations up. I’ve been watching the new Hallmark holiday movies, I’m getting out the decorations slowly, and I’m plotting out my recipes. While for some people it is entirely too early, it makes me happy at a time that physically and mentally feels very dark.
My love of reading has also returned in full force. I normally love reading but it felt like a bit of a struggle in October and November. But now, book after book, I cannot put them down! I’m still catching up on Rick Riordan’s books (which are fantastic), and there have been several new books out that I’ve been waiting for for quite some time. There is nothing like a good book to reinvigorate you! And on the day that this is available to read, I will have an extra hour to enjoy before having to get up, so I will take that win!
What is included in this newsletter?
A divergent period review that questions a seemingly popular 2023 period drama, royal news about a young heir moving into the spotlight, and a book preview for one of my favourite books of 2023!
And if you have friends that you think would be interested in royal history, book previews, and more, please send this on to them!
