An Historian About... 5 May 2024
Hello again dear readers!
I have some excellent news: my book-sale adventures at the end of April were incredibly positive. Not only did I find several older books that I’ve been looking for for years (including a Margot Fonteyn book that has long been out of print), I found a piece of 1910 coronation history that is in quite good condition. Yes, you read that correctly- it is over 120 years old! (You can see more of it further down in the newsletter- it has some incredible gems!)
With a new season of Bridgerton airing in two weeks, or should I say, half of a new season, I’m currently rewatching the first two seasons to reacquaint myself. While I enjoyed both of them, I do hope that the new season has more fun than the second- it was rather angsty and lacked the fun of historical romance. Here is hoping Penelope brings back the fun!
Health-wise, I do seem to be improving a bit, so I’m starting to take more walks again. And with that means more audiobook time! I’m all over the place with genres but it is really lovely to get out and enjoy nicer weather.
In this newsletter you will find: a Regency biopic, a must-read historical mystery, several active royal families, and a 124-year-old coronation souvenir!
