An Historian About... 3 December 2023
Hello again dear readers!
(Yes, those are Ninjabread men…)
We are a week into Blogmas, we have started our Advent Calendars, I would say we are firmly now into the holiday season. (Do with that what you will- if you like to wait for decorations, music, movies, etc, or avoid them altogether, that’s cool, too!) I’m actually have a lot of fun with Blogmas this year- it does not feel like blog “work” at all, and I”m thrilled to have that spark back.
This is a horrifically busy, stressful time at work, so I’ve been mostly sticking to audiobooks and watching old TV shows. Thankfully I’ve only got three weeks left until I have a nearly two-week break for the holidays, but I am sad that I’ve not been able to sit and read much. However, I am continuing on with my unofficial year of Rick Riordan, as I’m almost finished listening to his second hero-based series- I would wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone of any age. (I’m currently finishing my thirteenth Riordan book this year, so I feel qualified to make this recommendation.)
December is rather a Dickens-ish month. A Christmas Carol is a common Christmas movie and book for many of us. (Obviously the Muppets Christmas Carol is the superior film.) So in honour of him, I’ve got some recommendations for anyone who has ever been even the tiniest bit interested in him!
