An Historian About... 19 November 2023
Hello again dear readers!
Well, I am now firmly in the holiday mood! I’ve got journalists and organisations reaching out for holiday history, the holiday movies are airing all of the time now, and I’ve enjoyed several holiday books. However, the blog does provide me with a non-holiday outlet that I also enjoy!
I’m truly enjoying working on my Court Painters and Consort of the Month series. We are familiar with these historic figures but they often remain in the background of the monarch that they are connected to- it is lovely to be able to shine some light on their lives. I’ve also luckily had several non-holiday themed books come through from the library, including another of Rick Riordan’s series, so I will be in the right frame of mind for the Percy Jackson series that will be out in December!
Blogmas will be starting next week on the blog! From Saturday, 24 November, 2023 to 31 December, 2023, there will be daily posts on An Historian About Town. While many of the posts will be about holiday history, not all will- there will still be posts for you if you are less interested in Christmas!
One final note: I will have extra recommendations in this and the coming newsletters with some holiday recs! They won’t replace my regular recommendations, but I know that many people are looking for books, movies, music, etc right now. And if anyone is interested, I think that I will also be putting out mini-recommendation newsletters each week throughout Blogmas as a holiday thank you!
